Based on the theoretical work of Bernard Haisch and Garret Moddel (U. of Colorado), HRI has designed and is hosting an experiment to determine whether energy can be continuously extracted from the quantum vacuum field by flowing gas through a Casimir Cavity. The patented concept suggests that considerable radiant energy may be produced by a gas stream whose electronic orbitals are modified in a cavity where certain quantum vacuum modes are suppressed. When the gas exits the cavity, the orbitals are restored by the ambient (non-suppressed) modes.
